ode to the carrot

well we tried our first solid food over the weekend and it was not much of a hit. we made our own homemade babyfood. which was just pureed carrots with a splash of water. we sat Rigby up in the big girl highchair and tried a few bites. she did manage to keep most all of it in her mouth but she was not a fan. the minute that i put the carrots in she made a face like she was going to gag. most the time just just held the food on her tounge and made faces like "what am i suppose to do with this?" it was quite funny. Rigby is still tounge thrusting a lot when i tried to put the spoon in her mouth, so the books say she is still not ready. we will give her a few weeks and try again.
