Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah begins as sun down. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year festival. It is marked by the blowing of the shofar, and begins the ten days of penitence culminating in Yom Kippur. This Jewish education lesson brought to you by Mc Nab Elementary. Not really, but I learned late on Friday that there was no school today. I was not sure if I believed the teen girls that told me this so I went home and checked the school calendar and sure enough they were correct, although there was no specific reason for the school to be closed. When I wrote it on the calendar I found out that it was Rosh Hashanah and the next day that the kids were out was 9/23 which is Yom Kippur. So I guess Mc Nab celebrates all holidays. This is nice for the kids but a pain in the butt for the parents. Good thing daddy has a more “relaxed” schedule and can have her tag along today. So it is really daddy daughter day as I took Adler to daycare. I have to pay for it anyhow and it is so much easier when you only have one (does not matter which one) but one is 1000x less a hassle.
