1 month appointment

well yesterday was Rigby's one month check up. She weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz and 22 1/4 inches long. so she has been growing and putting on weight and the doc was happy about this progression. because Rigby is spitting up the doc was concerned about acid reflux. so we are trying a teaspoon of cereal in every other bottle to try to aid in getting the breast/formula to stay down, but this also will help in keeping her full longer and pooping on a regular schedule.

Doc was also concerned about her left eye. It was kind of goopy. i did not think it was that big deal i just though she had a little more sleep in the corner of her eye than normal. but doc said to watch, well after her morning nap i realized there was a LOT more eye goop. i used a warm washcloth to wipe it away and kept this up all afternoon and today i have not seen a reoccurrance.

yesterday was a big day for me too, it was my 1st day back to work (from home) since Rigby's arrival. because i had the doc appointment in the morning i got a late start on the day and then after the afternoon feeding we lost power. so there was no pumping or ac and the house was heating up. i was working off my back up battery waiting for FPL to show up to get our electricity back. ugh...later found out that there was a small animal fried on the line.

there is one very sad point to this day...it finally happened chopper bit Rigby. Rigby had spit up quite a lot so i went on her side of the baby gate where i had both harley and chopper pinned up. i was only going to get a clean outfit so i did not bother to move them to the living room or even a cage. i went into her room and with my free hand was opening the drawer to get out a onesie and chopper jumped off the bed and bit her. he got both her hand and my arm. before the bite Rigby was laying in my arms totally silent and was just along for the ride, but of course after the bite the screaming ensued. i thought at first he just scared her, and did not get her, but upon closer inspection i found that he did get her hand. my heart sunk and i felt like the worst mom ever. we washed with soap and water right way. she has a tiny scratch (she has scratched herself with her own finger nails worse) on her left hand and a red mark on the the side of her palm. after a few min she did calm down and i can touch the ouchies and there is not additional screaming so i don't think they still hurt.

so this was a big day for both me and Rigby and i think that we both made it out ok.
